Disco School: Plan the Unplannable, Ljubljana, 17—21 December 2021 + ONLINE
After two very successful events in Murska Sobota and Firminy, France, the Disco School exhibition is moving to Ljubljana, where it will be on display at the Institute for Transmedia Design. For the very first time, the exhibition will be presented in a web format as well.
The opening of the online exhibition is planned for Friday, 17 December at 18:00 (CET). Virtual visitors will be able to walk through the universe of a different, transformed Murska Sobota and discover more about the processes, the artworks, and all the ideas that emerged from the workshop. The link to the online exhibition will be published on Speculativeedu’s social media.
The Institute for Transmedia Design
The exhibition will also be on display in Ljubljana at the Institute for Transmedia Design, Einspielerjeva 25, on the following dates:
- Saturday, 18.12. – from 10.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00
- Sunday, 19.12. – from 16.00 to 18.00
- Monday, 20.12. – from 16.00 to 18.00
- Tuesday 21.12. – 10.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 18.00
On these dates, visitors will be able to pick up a free copy of our book Beyond Speculative Design: Past – Present – Future. The book presents an overview of the practice and leading practitioners. It serves as a tool to empower the reader to approach the design of future scenarios.
An online conversation about the future
As part of the exhibition, an online Disco School will take place on Monday, 20 December at 18:00 (CET).
Join us for an online discussion about Disco School. Take a walk through the online exhibition as we reflect on the processes and creative mediums used during the project, join the conversation about the value of embracing community perspectives in our work, and the role of childhood in the voice and agency of our collective future. Most importantly, get inspired!
The online event is organized in collaboration with Speculative Futures Lisbon and Speculative Futures Milan.
